Natsubate Book:

This series of photographs, taken in the heat of Japan’s summer, is a result of a visual journey capturing the essence of the season through my lens.

A collection of people and places who have been revealing to me a different, more authentic and unexpected perspectives on Japan culture and life.

The urban landscape becomes the crossway of people and stories, where the pulse of life beats in rhythm with the summer heat: elderly men pedal bicycles through bustling streets, exhausted sumo athletes sit down to rest, young girls recover from the sun in the subway.

In the heat of Natsubate, everything reveals itself in a different light, displaying its imperfect yet naturally beautiful essence.

This body od pictures offers a glimpse into this uncommon atmosphere through a dance of colors and shadows, until the night comes, painting the city in a mesmerizing glow.

A photographic journey aimed at conveying the intrinsic poetry of this corner of the world, a kaleidoscope of emotions unfolding through each shot, every color, and every face I encounter along the way, encompassing the phenomenon of “natsubate,” the summer heat that seeps under the skin and imparts a touch of melancholic sweetness to every captured moment.

All the pictures were taken in August 2023
